The Substation Gallery

The Substation Gallery houses six exhibition spaces and presents a monthly program of exhibitions from emerging and established contemporary artists. The Gallery is curated by the Substation Visual Arts team and houses a range of exhibitions throughout its white cube and subterranean spaces from sculpture, installation, new media work and painting and a dedicated creative workshop space.  The gallery offers a dynamic setting for your next function amidst a stimulating and ever changing environment and – with its challenging and innovative exhibitions - a unique talking point for your guests.

The Gallery is a raw yet modern space that would suit both sit down and stand up functions. With 3 spaces to choose from we have the luxury of seating up to 50 guests ( in one space, or 80 in all 3 spaces.. [Please Note, guests will be divided] ), or standing up to 150 ( across all 3 spaces ).

The Substation can arrange all your catering and beverage requirements, just fill out the enquiry form and we will get back to you within 24 hours

Community Access Gallery

The Community Access Gallery is an exhibition space for artists and organisations from the local community and beyond with priority given to exhibitions that engage with and reflect community interests and social concerns. We encourage community and not for profit organisations to develop exhibitions for the space or to present an existing exhibition or project as part of a broader program. The Substation aims to celebrate diversity in community based arts and encourages a range of presentations – from visual arts to museum display or documentation. Exhibitions may be the results of workshops, collaborations or programs and we welcome the use of multimedia, interactive displays and site specific works created in the space.
