Venue Co-ordinator

The establishment of the Hobsons Bay Community Arts Centre - the Substation, Newport is an initiative of community volunteers in Hobsons Bay and is supported by Federal, State and Local Governments and many local businesses. The Substation will be a hub for community performing and visual arts in Hobsons Bay.

Reporting to the Executive Committee, you will provide administrative and co-ordination services to enable the efficient running of the Substation.

You will undertake a range of tasks including:

  • co-ordinating venue operations and events
  • developing the Substation's program of festivals, exhibitions and events
  • fostering the relationship between the Substation and the community
  • using MYOB, EXCEL and MICROSOFT WORD for financial and administrative practices
  • writing grant and sponsorship applications
  • providing high quality customer service to clients, community groups, visitors to the Substation and other stakeholders

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders are essential. A passion for community-based performing and/or visual arts must be demonstrated.

Work type: Contract/temp, equivalent 0.2 negotiable, $22 - $28/hour range
